Exams ended today, which marks the end of my first year.
Some thoughts I would like to pen down, before keying more entries about my first year of undergraduate studies in the weeks (of freedom!) to come(:
I liked the exam period this time I think mostly because I had really good company to study with. I had initially thought my days would be spent mugging alone D: in solitude and feeling really stressed about everything. But this time I spent my days in the hall library mugging with hallmates. Its really encouraging to see people around you studying as hard as you are and taking short breaks with them to relax(: I think this year what really made it different were my hallmates. The large community to bond with over cooking/mealtimes/hall outings is really wonderful(:
Exams...some tough and some expected. I think one big takeaway I have is that its not whether or not you've studied more than others, but whether you know how to handle unexpected things that happen during exam. Many people panicked and misread questions, chose the wrong questions or made certain silly mistakes....especially for the math and econs paper when there were so many tricks. It has also been interesting to experience how exams are conducted here. For one, I actually have to travel out of school to zone 2 to take exams and spent 24 pounds total on travelling. And also they are quite strict on time, once time is up there's no such thing as raising your hands to write you name on the paper.
Now that my first year is over, I think I'll start posting entries about things that happened in the past year and try to collect some memories of year one. And also, start thinking about things I want to do over summer and in the next academic year.
Year one has been pretty awesome, the company especially. Happy post exams(:!
